Privacy Policy for AA Daily Readings and Prayers

DifferApps ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the AA Daily Readings and Prayers app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The app contains no advertising and no advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores your content and settings locally on your device so it works without an account. This may include:

• Your written entries: gratitude list and daily inventory notes, saved against the date you wrote them.
• Your sobriety date, if you choose to enter one.
• Reading list customisation: the order in which you arrange your readings.
• App preferences: selected voice and language, theme, and daily reminder times.
• Diagnostic logs: technical text-to-speech logs written to the app's own storage to help troubleshoot voice problems. These are never sent anywhere automatically.

This information stays on your device. It is not uploaded to us, and we cannot read it.

1.2 Anonymous Usage Analytics (Optional)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymous usage data — such as which readings are opened and which features are used — to help us improve the app.

Analytics is collected only with your explicit consent. The app asks for permission the first time you open it, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Data. If you decline, analytics data is not collected.

Analytics data does not include your name, email address, or anything you write in the gratitude list or inventory. The app disables collection of the Android advertising identifier.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not require an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos, location, or health information. The app does not use the camera or record audio.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information described above to:

• Save your readings, entries, and settings on your device.
• Deliver the daily reminder notifications you schedule.
• Understand which features are used, so we can improve the app.
• Diagnose crashes and reliability problems.
• Respond to support requests you send us by email.

3. Permissions the App Uses

• Notifications: used to deliver the daily reading reminders you choose to schedule. These are local notifications generated on your device.
• Alarms and background execution: used so scheduled reminders arrive at the right time, including after your device restarts.
• Internet: used for analytics (when consented) and to open external links, such as the Play Store listing.

4. Text-to-Speech

Readings can be spoken aloud using the text-to-speech engine built into your device (for example Google Speech Services on Android, or the system voice on iOS). The text of the reading is passed to that engine to be spoken. Handling of that text is governed by the privacy policy of your device or its speech engine provider.

5. Sharing Content

If you choose to share a reading, the app hands the text to your device's share sheet so you can send it via an app you select. We are not involved in that transfer, and we do not receive a copy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. The only third-party service that receives data is Google Firebase Analytics, and only when you have consented to analytics.

7. Your Choices

• Analytics consent: grant or withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy & Data.
• Notifications: turn reminders off in the app, or revoke notification permission in your device settings.
• Delete your data: because your entries and settings are stored only on your device, clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes them permanently.

8. Children's Privacy

The app is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and becomes effective when posted.
